Cats

What is it about cats that makes it so mysterious? Is it the way that they always seem to know when we are sad or angry? Perhaps it's the way they seem to prefer solitude and quiet over noise. Sometimes it depends on their breed, such as Siamese cats tend to be a bit louder than other breeds. I have also seen that the longhair breeds of cats such as the Persian tend to be more quiet and sit for long periods of time.

Cats in the past have been on both the negative and positive aspects of culture. One such positive aspect is the legend of the Egyptian cat goddess Bast, who was a protector the home and domestic cats. The black cat is attributed to witches because of the legend of witches receiving a black cat as a helper, or a "familiar".

Cats also succumb to different diseases just like humans and other animals. Some of the diseases cats get are diarrhea, constipation, and hairballs. Even though hairballs are not classified as a disease, it is a condition which can adversely effect the cat's health.
